umm, i really dont know who to turn to. id tell my mom but she hates my boyfriend enough as it is and im an only child and i feel to scared to tel my friends.
so anyway, im 15 and have been with my boyfriend for a year and a half. hes been loyal and sweet to me since the beginning. we knew each other when we were babies and were like best friends. im a virgin, but he isnt as hes slept with 4 girls when he was 13.
lately hes been demanding sex. it was when we were at his house, laying (fully dressed) on his bed watching movies. we started kissing and he put his hands down my trousers. eurgh, dont need to go into detail of what happened but yeah and he kept asking me to take my clothes off. i wouldnt so he started taking my top off. i told him not to but he said ‘its about time we do it, why are you so scared’ but i just pushed him away and ran out the house. this was thursday night we havent spoke since.
and on friday at school he wouldnt look at me and was giving me the evils. i dont want to lose him, so feel confused. shall i sleep with him, to make him happy? i do love him but oh i dunno…?!

I want to be successful but i want to know the pros and cons of being wealthy and successful and known. Is there any REAL chance for REAL happiness and love?
My daughter, who is 12, is beginning to back talk, bend the rules her dad and I set and just in general being annoying! I know this can be typical teenager behavior, but I don’t know what to do. She is on the phone constantly (4-5 hrs at a time) and then gets on the computer to im her friends. I have to remind her of her chores, but yet she demands to know when she can go to a friends, to the movies, etc… how do I make her understand she is only 12 and not 16?
The way teachers and coaches speak and act in K-12 schools, it definitely is NOT okay to be average. They send the message that only the students who get above average grades are okay, and only the teams and athletes who win most of the time are okay.
But logic and common sense tell us that it is IMPOSSIBLE for everyone to win most of the time.
For one team, athlete or student to be above average, another team, athlete or student must be below average.
What team or nation would boast “We’re Number 27!”
The best comedic commentary on all this from the movie “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” starring Will Ferrell as Ricky Bobby: “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”
So, I see enormous pressure in K-12 on students (and teachers too) to be GREAT, to be one of the BEST, to be an ABOVE AVERAGE achiever. And this spirit and ethos is also present at many of the employers where these students end up.
It all sounds good. Who can argue with the value of excellence?
Yet, there seems to be one little problem: There is NO way everyone can be above average.
Some people, of a more “Liberal” bent, often say it is okay to be average, or even below average, that there’s no shame in it, and that no one should let it affect their self esteem.
The problem I see with this Liberal approach is that the economy and the wider world is not Liberal, and so, as a matter of practical reality, students and adults who are not above average find it much harder to earn a living, and end up with the more sucky jobs, and often end up living in the least desirable (and sometimes unsafe) neighborhoods. So, being average and below average has practical consequences. It hurts. Yet, in a Capitalist and Democratic country, there MUST be winners and losers, since everything is big competition.
I honestly don’t know what should be my attitude towards and philosophy about Competitiveness and the Quest for Excellence (the root word, “excel,” means to be above average, to go beyond the common lot of people).
On the one hand, it is easy to see that the “winners” of life have more enjoyable, more secure, more peaceful lives.
On the other hand, the Capitalist philosophy of “to victor goes the spoils” seems way too Darwinian for me, way too “survival of the fittest.” (To me, it is no accident that one of the Columbine mass murderers, Eric Harris, wore a t-shirt during the massacre with the phrase “Natural Selection” emblazoned across the front.)
So, I am asking for people here in Yahoo! Answers to tell what is their personal philosophy regarding this whole cultural demand that everyone be a strong competitor and end up being and remaining above average (when that is simply impossible). Thank you.
1.) Biblical Law. Matthew 5:17-18 says quite clearly that Jesus demands Christians follow Old Testament law completely, to the smallest possible point. Why don’t they?
2.) Infanticide. The modern Christian churches of the world tend to gloss the fact that God is a child killer—the 10th plague in Egypt—and say that Jesus set this right. Ignoring for a moment that the crucifixion is just one more child killing to fulfill God’s will, why does Jesus say he also will kill children in Revelation 2:23?
3.) Fact or Allegory. The Bible says the Earth is between 6,000 and 8,000 years old, that it was created in 7 days, and that Man is made of dirt and Woman a piece of Man. Most churches today say that this is allegory. What passages of the Bible support it all being just allegory?
4.)Needle’s Eye. Jesus said rich men don’t go to Heaven easily and even implied that it wasn’t possible. Why are so many people with money and property Christian if they are probably going to Hell?
5.)Apocrypha and Biblical Revisions. The Bible of 400 CE and the Bible today differ by dozens of chapters and thousands of parts. Which Bible is the word of God and why does man edit it?
6.)Born Fallen. Even in this global age there are millions of persons who never hear the Good News. We are born in sin. Do some go to Hell just because of their birth circumstances?
7.)Graven Images. Isn’t wearing the cross and making statues and movies of the life of the Christ a violation of the 2nd Commandment? “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image…”
8.)Inquisitions, Crusades, Witch Trials. Historians put the number of those killed and executed by Christian churches at between 2 and 15 million; mostly Jews, witches/pagans, and Muslims. Do Christians retain this murderous nature? If not, why not?
9.) Turn the other Cheek. Jesus instructs the saved to love and to forgive even deadly insults (Matthew 5:44: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” et cetera). Why do no prominent Christian leaders to follow this?
10.) Free will. Freedom to choose is given to man by God. Man has two main choices: 1) accept the Love of God and, upon death, go to paradise for eternity, 2) Refuse God and, upon death, just die, be utterly damned. How is that freedom of choice when it is the same thing as a gun to your head?

For English we have to do a short roleplay and while I’m getting full marks in everything else I have no clue how to act or anything XD; So me and my partner are doing this thing and it sort of consists of two monologues each, but two of them are more of one-sided conversations to get some interaction in there.

I help my mom by watching my 8 year old sister before and after school. She’s a good girl when she tries to be. She’s very bright and can be a sweet girl.
Unfortunately lately I’ve had a lot of problems with her. She mouths off at me, argues every point even when you give her a reasonable explanation in a calm voice, she is stubborn and she gets angry when she doesn’t get her way.
I know this is probably normal behaviour but it is frustrating to deal with. I’m doing my best to be a good big sister and a good babysitter. I try not to yell at her. I try to talk to her both calmly and firmly but it feels like all she does is take advantage of me or act worse.
My mom is expecting me to stick with this and not quit on her since my other sister is 12 and in school and doesn’t get home until around 4 pm. I am almost 23, live on my own and married and I am doing this as a favour to her as well as working myself.
How do I deal with this behaviour without either losing my temper nor caving in to her demands?
My mom has tried lecturing her, grounding her, taking away priveleges for not behaving and she acts this way at school too. I am not allowed to spank her either, so that is out of the question as I’m her sister not a parent

Rather than moving towards being a nation of healthy people American’s are simply going to point to numerous reasons why there is an obesity epidemic, toss the blame on the food industry or the Government for not better regulating the free enterprise food industry…Americans sure the hell are not going to do anything to end the obesity epidemic, if anything they will fight to preserve the status quo.

I truly angry and confused, I just want to find a way to take control of this situation. This is a long written out problem but I honestly need someone’s help.
I’m the legal guardian of a 16 yr old boy, his name is Jacob. I’ll try to make this a short story. I got custody over Jacob when he 7 because his mom was my best friend and she died a single mother with no other family and his father died before he was born. So I have taken him in and raised him. He’s the greatest kid he’s my only kid and he’s like a best friend to me. He’s accepted as family to my whole family.
My parents died a couple years ago and when they did i think our bond grow closer because we were able to help each other cope.
I have a sister who is 16 who now lives with my grandmother after my parent’s death. They live about two blocks away me. When my parents died Jacob and my little sister got close being able to relate to one another
Him and my sister have been dating for the last 2 years. At first i was mad that out of all the people in the world that my little sister and the kid that I’m raising are falling for each other. But i realized that they cared a lot for each other and my grandmother and I thought that they were helping each other get past the pain that they have been through.
The first year and a half was cute with them but i guess teenage hormones kicked in and they have been all over each other. It’s gotten to the point where it’s disgusting, they are very inappropriate in public places. For example, being all over each other like animals in a movie theater and they make disgusting sexual remarks towards each other when other people are around. Its embarrassing. Last week i walked into my house and they were dry humping. I sat them down and asked them if they were having sex and they lied to me and said no. I know for a fact that they’ve been for at least the last month that they’ve been having sex like rabbits whenever and wherever they can in my house, I’ve been finding used condoms everywhere, again disgusting. I told them cool down on their behavior that it was bothering me hoping that they would listen.
They didn’t listen and a couple of days ago I caught them in my home cutting class to have oral sex in my room. I didn’t think I was yelling at them but i guess i was. I’m pissed that they cut class to have sex and I might be more pissed that they had sex in my bedroom.
They told me that they were sorry for what happen and that they would never do it again in my room but they told that it was hard for them not to be completely all over each other when they are around one another and they told me for the last month they’ve been having sex 3-4 times a day. They said its addictive to them.
They are really good kids who are great students in school and the fact that they would skip school to have sex, worries me.
What should I do? Should I make them spend time apart from each other? How do I stop their inappropriate behavior? Should I be worried?

So I have noticed a little change with my daughters wardrobe in the past 2 1/2 weeks. She has been wearing sweatshirts when it is 90 or hotter degrees outside, she wears those tight skinny jeans and some all star high top shoes. Also, I’ve noticed my razor blades have been disappearing from the tool box I also heard some of the lifeguards at the pool saying they saw cut marks on a girls arm. She is wanting to dye her hair black and pierce her lip, she is listening to different music now some band called Hawthorne something and a lot of interesting bands. I’ve been looking up articles about this “Emo” lifestyle. I noticed that my daughter seems depressed she has for awhile now, but I just assumed it was because I started dating and spending less time with her but, that doesn’t seem to be the problem every time I try to watch a movie with her or have a girls night out she goes upstairs in her room and sits on the computer and listens to music. What is going on with my daughter?
I really don’t know what could make her sad or mad, I try to talk to her but she avoids me at all costs. When she does talk we usually fight and the fights always end in an “I HATE YOU, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND” then she goes up to her room and hides.
None of her friends are “Emo” or into the music she is into. I really don’t think she is trying to find herself and I don’t think that when you self harm yourself it is a stage, there has to be something behind it.
I think there is such great potential within this game… even better than GTA 3 and GTA San Andreas. The plotline is amazing and the finale of the game where Tommy Vercetti single-handedly defeats Lance and Sonny’s henchmen…? That things are GOLD! It reminds me to scarface a lot (only Tommy is not slaughtered in the end)!
Which part of the game should be incorporated in the movie then? Which properties and dirty business should be included in the major plotline? I believe at least counterfeit and “fleshy” bussines of Candy Suxxx must be on the movie…
What do you all think here? How should GTA Vice City be adapted in the movies? Would they dare enough to shoot the movie in Miami? past few months I found out that my 12 yr.old son stole my jewelries and gave it to his female friend (a classmate). I got the shocked of my life when the girl and her grandmother came to my house to return the stuffs that my son gave her. After that we also found out that he used my husbands credit card to pay to download a game from the internet. My brother’s 14yrs old daughter ran away after school hours, 15days ago & has just been found. As the parents bring her back home, the big question looming is – How do we go ahead with her?
Top of my head are the below thoughts :
1) First get her back, make her comfortable @ her home, do not reprimand, just lovingly treat her until her mental state of mind returns to normalcy.
2) Next, with gentle probing, identify what really prompted her actions so as to get to the root of the problem & correct it.
3) Withdraw her from the current school & restart the term in a new school (to avoid old school-mates ridiculing her actions).
4) Entire family relocate to another town to avoid social stigma. (Please note we live in India).
5) Once the girl has mentally relaxed, have a good talk, maybe some counselling, & make her understand the consequences of her actions & the facts of life. After-all it would be most unhealthy to just keep her confined under watchful eyes & restrict her outdoor activities.
Need your advise on all this. The toughest parts are – (a) getting to the root of the problem, (b)ensuring she doesn’t run away again and (c)she not doing something drastic like attempting suicide, etc.
About the girl :
The girl is very outgoing…..makes friends easily.
She was allowed to pursue her interest in learning/teaching/giving dance performances.
Coming from a not so economically well-off family, she lives in a little village and has had limitations on socializing, has not been given a mobile phone and has not been introduced to the world of internet. The few outings to a mall/movie have been only with parents & not with other girlfriends.
Her extra friendliness with boys was noticed a year ago & she was warned to stay away from getting into any relationships with boys.
From a very young age itself, it was noticed that she loves dressing up extra and putting on make-up (lipstick, blusher, huge earrings) not just for special occassions, but also secretly when going out anywhere. At times she was found in school with a make-up kit in the school bag.
She doesn’t hesitate to ask others to buy her gifts despite the parents providing her most of her demands.
I believe she commented to her friends that her father seems to favour their dog and the toddler next door rather than herself….but her parents claim to shower her with lots of affection.
About the parents :
I believe they have not been abusive or violent. After many many years, just a year ago, the girl received a spanking for bunking school & visiting a mall very far away with a couple of boys & girls without parent’s knowledge.
Parents have provided to their best capacity what ever she needed, at times given her a little beyond their means too.
Mother is a house-wife and hence takes care of the children’s upbringing. Father has a job & provides for the family. The girl loves her older brother.
We are all at a total loss trying to understand what prompted her actions and more importantly, how do we react now. How do we bring her up in the right way without blundering again?

As I knew she likes nice stuff, my boyfriend and I (my daughter lives with us 6 yrs old) moved to a very nice luxury apartment with lots of amenities so mom can have a nice experience. the complex has inside movie theatre, valet parking, 3 pools, 4 hot tubs, 2 community rooms, 2 gyms, and etc. my boyfriend and I sleep in one bed, and my mom and my daughter were supposed to sleep in the other. she is an artist, so I spoke with the apt manager to let her use the community room ( huge luxury studio with balcony) as her art class. our balcony opens to a garden where I thought she would paint. we wanted her to live with us forever.

I Enjoy my job, it’s just all the third grade drama is driving me nuts. I work for a small company, and the “buddy system” is going on. My 88 year old Mom broke her hip last week and they had to replace most of it. She is in a physical therapy hospital to get moving around again. The only thing is that the incision keeps leaking quite a bit.

She’s playful as a puppy, gorgeous ,and loving (age 18 as am I ) That being said she’s going through life putting in the bare minimum effort and it freaks me out when i think of the long term. Her room looks like a hurricane hit it and the bathroom is no better with all her make up stuff everywhere.
She rarely gets out of her pajamas to put on regular clothes( the regular clothes are sometimes tarnished with food stains) Sometimes on the weekends, she won’t wake up until 4:30 and keep her pjs on and has what she calls a “lazy day”, where she insists I call in sick to work and watch movies all day with her. Sometimes she’ll wear the bottoms to school. School consists of her sleeping through class and skipping the homework, and getting a 40% on the homework ( school rule), the tests , she gets a 60 which is the lowest you can get on a test. , and she’s never had a job. Rather than make any food she just drives thru and buys salads. .I’m not a straight A+ student either, but I maintain Bs and low As. I’m not a neat freak but my room looks presentable. I love her and her hedonistic attitude but sometimes I wonder what it’d be like to date a more mature woman. Do i bother to talk to her And yes her parents made her this way. Do I talk to them?
His left hip pops with almost every step. He doesn’t limp or have trouble getting up however. And he’s very playful. For having such a bad hip he seems like he doesn’t care. If I hadn’t heard the popping, I never would’ve known to take him to the vet as it’s nearly unnoticable visually. He’s very young, not even a year old. I have dysplasia in my hip and there is soft tissue damage. The plan is to have this procedure where they cut the hip socket in three places, put springs in and then let it heal. This increases the size of the socket (which is too small) and should prevent me from getting arthritis at about 25. I am 17 years old and i have been told the recovery will be about 6 months, but i am not entirely sure what that involves. I am desperate for information that does not come out of the mouth of a surgeon. Can anyone help?

I have tried a cane, but it seems that the cane doesn’t help the hip pain much, since so much of the pain has migrated to my right SI joint and my right leg seems to have torqued a bit inward. I have tried using the cane in both hands without a lot of success.

I am experiencing muscle twitches in my neck, arms, hands and the leg and foot of the leg that has NOT had the replacement, and this is interferring with my sleep. (BTW These are not the same as the painful muscle spasms that I get on the operated hip leg.) Are these twitches normal? Do they go away? Will a body massage help to stop them? Thanks.
I am 70 yrs old & its now 4 months since mt total hip surgery. I use a walking stick outside, but around house can walk without. Hip & leg still achy & some pain with exercise still.

I have bilateral hip pain which is caused by certain movements. When I get the pain it lasts about 30 to 60 seconds and would be ranked a 10 out of 10. I also have a low grade fever of 99.0 to 99.5 most of the time. I have bilateral knee tenderness and hands hurt if grip something. I have been to the doctor and had x-rays and lab work. Am waiting for results. He mentioned arthritis or Avascular necrosis.

I’ve got 2 hip replacements and the metal detectors everyone has to go through to get in and out of the warehouse at work are overly sensitive. I can never make it through without setting it off and having to be wanded and its just really annoying that I have to cut my break and lunch short because of it. I had total hip replacement with leg lengthening (about 2-3 in.) 6 weeks ago. I then had x rays and due to soft bones, I still can’t put full weight bearing on my right hip. I can only toe-touch and have to use a walker, until healing continues. Maybe another 6 weeks or longer? I am so disappointed that I have to sit or lay around for six more weeks. It’s so boring. I am 62 years old and had perthes leg disease, and the doctor said it was really bad. Anyone else had similar results?

Kids let other kids use their cell phones. 6 months ago, I discovered my son borrowed a cell phone to create a Facebook when he was 8. I confronted my son about this. He admitted to this. I even saw posts on other websites during school hours connected to his name and on his Facebook wall. I demanded his password. He wouldn’t give it to me. I explained to him why I wanted his password (predators, bullying) and his father showed him a Dr. Phil episode about a girl being raped by a man she met on a cellphone with internet and how cyber bullied kids committed suicide. I had him sit at the dinner table until he gave me his password. He sat there all day Saturday and Sunday. Then I tried other consequences such as taking away TV, computer and friend privileges and he still didn’t give me his password. I told the school not to let him borrow cell phones and he didn’t listen to them and they gave up after 2 months. They gave him lunch and after school detention and he took cell phones and didn’t give them up he was using them in detention the school tried to grab them from him and the school gave up after 2 months. A month ago his teacher was absent from one week because she was feeling sick. During that week, my son watched rated movies with friend’s cell phones. I know because he even told me what they are about. It has been 6 months already he still hasn’t given me his password. What should I do?
P.S. I was also thinking about homeschooling him because of this. Please give me advice on that?

Every day when he comes home he just sits at the corner every day until he gives me his password and he sits there all day doesn’t watch TV, use computer or go to friend’s homes he just does his homework and on the weekends. This went on for 4 months and was at 7 months overall he still didn’t give me his password. Last week, he threatened to publish our names and address if I continue to bug him with his password and the next he posted our names and address and I got a phone call. He recited our address and said he was going to come and kill us. Then he threatened not to take his insulin (he’s diabetic) and he physically fought me (he’s stronger than both of us and no one can stronger can restrain him). I gave up the password battle because he missed insulin for a long time and then he took his insulin again.
― Last year he left school without waiting for me and went to a friend’s house without our permission. We did not approve of him playing rated M games (which he probably plays at school) and we grounded him for the weekend and we told him that friend can come over and play with our supervision. He went back there a second time and we grounded him again and took away his TV and computer privileges and he went back there 50 times and I couldn’t get in contact with his parents because they leave their son home alone and I don’t know their number. Each time he went back there was a consequence but he still went back there. We fought over a year about this. He is not considered a runaway because he has to spend the night away from home to be considered a runaway.
― We went to the cardiologist and kept breathing during the cardiogram and playing with the wires we had to redo it 8 times and I don’t want this to turn into a power struggle.
― His friends give him chocolate and he eats too much according to me and his doctor and I fought a week over this but stopped because I am very stressed out over these long power struggles.
I do talk to him in a low tone authoritative manner while making eye contact. That doesn’t help. What should I do?
Innervation of hip joint comes from branches of femoral nerve (nerves to rectus femoris and quadratus femoris), branch from obturator nerve’s anterior division, and articular twigs from sciatic nerve. Branches from these three major nerves (femoral, sciatic, obturator) nerves also supply knee joint. That’s why sometimes pain from knee may be referred to hip and vice versa.
My question is, which one is it? Is it femoral, sciatic or obturator nerve that gives the most supply (innervation) to hip joint?

I explained to him why I wanted his password (predators, bullying) and his father showed him a Dr. Phil episode about a girl being raped by a man she met on a cellphone with internet and how cyber bullied kids committed suicide. I had him sit at the dinner table until he gave me his password. He sat there all day Saturday and Sunday. Then I tried other consequences such as taking away TV, computer and friend privileges and he still didn’t give me his password. I told the school not to let him borrow cell phones and he didn’t listen to them and they gave up after 3 months. They gave him lunch and after school detention and he took cell phones and didn’t give them up he was using them in detention the school tried to grab them from him and the school gave up after 2 months. A month ago his teacher was absent from one week because she was feeling sick. During that week, my son watched rated movies with friend’s cell phones. A hip pain felt for about a year. He is having a hard time sitting straight and it hurts so much. tips or advice on hip pain felt?

What are some of you favorites (doesn’t have to be any set number)?
I had total hip replacement with leg lengthening (about 2-3 in.) 6 weeks ago. I then had x rays and due to soft bones, I still can’t put full weight bearing on my right hip. I can only toe-touch and have to use a walker, until healing continues. Maybe another 6 weeks or longer? I am so disappointed that I have to sit or lay around for six more weeks. It’s so boring. I am 62 years old and had perthes leg disease, and the doctor said it was really bad. Anyone else had similar results?
My boss keeps getting onto my pants because of a recent crack down on leggings, and skinny jeans. However, my pants are actually skinny fit slacks and have no denim in them whatsoever! I proved this to her, by showing her the tag, and letting her feel them. However, she said that in order to have to avoid feeling my pants, either her or someone from upper management questioning them, that I should wear shirts long enough to cover the pockets on the back. WHAT? I only own 2 shirts that actually cover my butt, and where am I going to find a tunic for the summer in Texas? I am actually wondering if this could be a discriminatory issue, but at the moment I am more concerned about where I am going to find pants, in order to go to work. When I bought the pairs I have, I had the hardest time finding something to fit my frame. I have tried every store, and the only pants out there were the skinny pants. Dress slacks that I found, were still too big, even in the lowest size. A 00 at Anne Taylor Loft Petites, were still too large, and bowed out at the hip. I have even tried the children stores, and sections! Some will fit there, but end up too short around the ankle, and looked like I was highwatering, or they are embellished in girly stuff. I cannot afford to spend a fortune, and considering my profession as a hairstylist, getting color or lightener on them will be inevitable at some point. However, I do need pants that will last multiple washes, and still stay together. My budget range is up to $50. Please if anyone knows where I can find some dress pants, for my size I would appreciate it!
I am: 5 feet tall, weigh 100lbs. Athletic body type (no hips, straight waist). Stand all day, so no longer have a butt. 25 years old. Wear flats to work alot.
Boss’s requirements: No pockets on butt that look like they could be jean pockets (no outside pockets), no denim, no skinny pants (is what she is saying). Black, gray, or white.
I just realized I forgot this. Pants must not drag or touch the floor. No cargo pants, or carpenter style. Also, while I can wear heels, As a hairstylist I stand for almost 8 hours in one spot . Heels are not in my wardrobe any longer lol. I can hem though if I need to.
Ok here are my measurements. Waist- 25″ (I have a high waist, short torso) Hips- 32″ Thigh- 30.25″ all the way around Thigh circumference -17.5″
I would like to know if anyone knows why do i always have sharp hip pains on my left side whenever i sit on my bed. whether i am sitting on the edge or against the back board i always have pain that feels like it’s in the muscle on that one side that’s so bad it will hurt to walk. My dad tried putting some type of firm foam piece under my spread but that didn’t work. I went to the doctor and they took some X-rays and couldn’t find anything and of course it wasn’t hurting that day.
I am 14 years old n I love rap and hip-hop music but my parents hate it, they think that it’s “not suitable” for me but I have always listened to it. So my question for other parents is would you let your daughter or son listen to rap or hip-hop?
Oh and i’m not talking about christian rap or any thing like that. I’m just talking about the rap and hip-hop music that alot of people catigorize as “gangster music”.
