Why are beauty marks considered attractive if they mess up the basic vertical symmetry of a person’s face? And also, why are they only attractive on certain parts of the face? Any reasons/explanations?

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but every society has its own ideal. What’s your idea of beauty – be it of the same or opposite gender – and is it in line with those around you?

I believe that beauty comes from inside more than it shows on the outside. Someone who’s been through tough times and still wears a smile on their face without a negative attitude is beautiful. Someone who doesn’t put people down but at the same time isn’t afraid to tell the world how they feel is beautiful.

Do you think the beauty standards are causing people to rebel against them or feed into them? Obesity in America is the highest it has ever been. Do you think these beauty standards are linked to people feeling the need to eat? Are people feeling too much pressure to be like models or just live up to the high beauty standards of America? For example: Women are considered to be pretty when they have big breast, tiny waits, pretty face, nice bottom. What do you think the standards are for men?

Society tends to focus on youth and beauty regarding women. One is a temporary asset (everybody ages), and the other one of a superficual one (no one can choose their genes)

Meanwhile society doesnt put as much pressure on men to look young and beauty, in fact you can see many old fat ugly guys married to younger beautiful women.
